Thank you ChildFund India, my child is cured …can see a smile on his face…

Naino Damor, 8 years old sponsored child studying in class two, belong to a poor family from the village Pipliya of the Jhabua district, Madhya Pradesh. He was suffering from uncommon disease since last when he was 2 years old. During the routine home visit of the family, field staff observed cysts or cavities at the third to seventh layer of a spinal cord spinal cord. The field staff talked with the family members about it but did not pay attention to it. The field staff made repeated visits and counselled family members to take child to the District Hospital for diagnosis and its treatment. After consistent efforts by the field staff, family members agreed to take child to the District Hospital on May 8th 2014. The concerned doctor failed to diagnose and suggested to refer the child to the Neurosurgeon from Indore, the largest city of the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.

After routine check-up and MRI, the child was diagnosed with neurological disorder, Syringomyelia. The doctor suggested a surgery that approximately cost INR 1.5 lacs to cure the disease and save the child. Parents were worried about the expense. The project staff counselled the child and his family members. The surgery successfully completed on June 9th 2014.and supported the cost of the surgery, INR 1.4 lacs, from CHILDFUND INDIA’s Emergency Fund. Naino is now completely recovered from Syringomyelia and regularly attending the school. The Child & his family are very happy. Naino’s father said thanking to the ChildFund India’s staff, “My child is cured and we can see a smile on naino’s face. It became possible only with the support of the ChildFund”
