Climate change does not affect all communities equally. Children and families facing economic distress, geographic vulnerability, or limited access to services are often exposed to higher risks and fewer recovery options. Addressing climate resilience therefore requires a focus on equity, inclusion, and accountability.
ChildFund India’s Climate Justice and Equity program works to strengthen systems that ensure climate responses are inclusive, rights-based, and aligned with the needs of children and vulnerable communities.
The program works with government bodies, civil society networks, and research institutions to strengthen inclusive climate and disaster-related policies.
Climate and weather data systems are introduced to support risk-informed planning and climate-smart agriculture practices.
Communities are supported to access climate-smart livelihoods, green practices, and public schemes that reduce long-term vulnerability.
The program collaborates with national and state platforms, academic institutions, and UN-aligned networks to strengthen coordination and accountability.
Climate resilience efforts are aligned with disaster management, agriculture, and development systems to support long-term adoption.
