About ChildFund India
ChildFund India is a child-focused development organization, working in 123 districts across 14 states. Through our programs, we reach to children from the most marginalized communities with support from community leaders, local administrators and organizations and the government. Annually, we reach to at least 4.7 million children and their families through holistic, innovative and sustainable interventions. These interventions, based on health, nutrition, education, livelihood, gender and child protection, are created alongside communities and other stakeholders to ensure sustainability and longevity of programs. Largely, we work towards ensuring that children thrive in safe and conducive environment and are enabled to break free of the vicious cycle of generational poverty.

Our Approach
To ensure that children grow well, it is imperative to create an environment that is conducive for their physical as well as mental growth. ChildFund India works towards holistic development of a child, which includes social, physical, emotional, and cognitive needs. Our approach puts children at the center of all we do to support them to become the agents of change, who grow to be responsible adults. Thus, through various interventions based on health, nutrition, gender, education, livelihood and child protection, we support children from their conception till they become adults. In this regard, we work with families, communities, institutions and national and international organizations. Child protection is woven throughout all our work, considering that violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation threaten a child’s connections to health, learning opportunities, and other development areas. Also, we work with children, communities, organizations, local governance, and government to save lives in emergencies and reduce disaster risks in a systematic approach with the child-centered lens.
ChildFund India is committed to work towards accomplishing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030 and our programs encompass most of the SDGs.

Our Journey
ChildFund’s journey in India started in 1951 when we began supporting The Alwaye Settlement School in Kerala. Our only aim then was to provide education and opportunities to its 30 students who belonged to the most marginalized sections of the society. Seven decades later, this small intervention has grown into a nationwide movement…
