Staying in school is key to a child’s confidence, skills, and future opportunities. While enrolment has improved, gaps remain in school completion, especially during the transition to secondary education. Social, academic, and family-related challenges can interrupt learning journeys and limit long-term prospects.
Aligned with Goal 4 of the Sustainable Development Goals, ChildFund India’s Dream of Completing School (DOCS) Program supports children and adolescents to return to school, stay engaged, and complete their education—so learning continues even when challenges arise.
The program identifies the academic, social, and family-related reasons behind school discontinuation and supports re-enrolment in formal schools or, where needed, open schooling options.
Remedial classes and learning support help children catch up, alongside need-based financial assistance to ease economic pressures.
Individual and group counselling helps children rebuild confidence, stay motivated, and manage social or emotional challenges.
Workshops focus on communication, problem-solving, and decision-making to help children navigate school and life more confidently.
Structured case management ensures regular follow-up, involving parents, teachers, and community members to support sustained school participation.
