Many young people, especially those outside formal education or stable employment, need practical skills, guidance, and access to opportunities to build secure livelihoods. Gaps in exposure, training, and career support often limit their ability to find or create meaningful work.
ChildFund India’s work on employability and entrepreneurship supports adolescents and youth aged 17–24 years to become skilled, work-ready, and economically independent. Under this focus area, the E-Saksham Program creates local hubs that connect young people to training, career guidance, and employment or self-employment opportunities that match market needs.
E-Saksham digital hubs are established at Youth Resource Centres are established across project locations to serve as safe, accessible spaces for learning, career guidance, and skill development.
Youth receive training in digital skills, soft skills, life skills, and career planning, alongside exposure to technical and vocational skills relevant to local job markets.
Interested youth are connected to recognised skill development programs and certification pathways under government initiatives such as PMKVY, DDUGKY, and Jan Shikshan Sansthan.
The program supports youth through networking, exposure visits, internships, apprenticeships, and job placement assistance, helping them make informed career choices.
Youth interested in entrepreneurship receive guidance to start small businesses, encouraging local enterprise and income generation.
