Every child grows up in a different reality. A child in a drought-affected village faces challenges unlike one living in an urban settlement or a disaster-prone coastal community. Yet every child deserves the same chance to grow up healthy, educated, protected, and confident about their future.
Since 1984, we at ChildFund India, have worked with this understanding at the heart of everything we do. We recognise that children’s lives are shaped by many connected factors — their health, emotional wellbeing, learning opportunities, family support, community safety, and the environment around them. Addressing only one of these is never enough. Lasting change happens when children are supported across all these areas, together.
Our work brings health, education, child protection, youth skilling, livelihoods, and climate resilience into an integrated approach that responds to children’s changing needs as they grow — from early childhood through adolescence and into young adulthood. In some communities, this means strengthening maternal and child health and nutrition. In others, it means keeping girls in school, supporting adolescents to build skills and confidence, or helping families cope with climate-related stress. Wherever we work, our focus remains the same — creating safe, supportive environments where children can learn, express themselves, and thrive.
We work closely with families, community institutions, local partners, and government systems to ensure that support reaches children early and lasts over time. Across 78 districts in 12 states, this deep, community-rooted approach helps build resilience, strengthen local systems, and create spaces where children and young people can play an active role in shaping their own futures.
For over four decades, ChildFund India has worked alongside children and communities across the country. Our purpose remains simple and unwavering: to ensure that every child, regardless of where they are born, can grow up healthy, educated, skilled and safe (at home, in school, online). Because when children thrive, families, communities, and the nation grow stronger together.
To create an India where children lead a dignified life and achieve their full potential.
Help deprived, excluded and vulnerable children to have the capacity to improve their conditions and gain opportunities to become responsible young adults, parents, leaders, etc., who would bring lasting and positive change in their communities.
Promote societies whose individuals and institutions participate in valuing, protecting and advancing the worth and the rights of children.
Enrich supporters’ lives through their support of our cause.
